Aim and Scope

Journal of Digital Technology and Society is an International Journal publishing refereed scholarly articles, position papers, debates, short communications, and reviews of books and other publications. Established in 2023, the Journal focuses on societal issues that are impacted and anchored to the design, use, management, of frontier digital technologies, with a particular emphasis on cultural, social, cognitive, economic, political, geopolitical, ethical, and philosophical implications.

Journal of Digital Technology and Society seeks to promote an understanding of the potential, transformative impacts and critical consequences of frontier digital technology for societies. Digital technological innovations, including new sciences such as biotech, nanotech and neuroscience, offer a great potential for societies, but also pose existential risk. As digital technology is used almost in all the technological developments, the journal is not restricted to a particular technological area.Further, the impacts are recognised to be domestic (within a country) and global.

Rooted in the human-centred tradition of science and technology, the Journal acts as a catalyst, promoter and facilitator of engagement with diversity of voices and over-the-horizon issues of arts, science, technology and society. It aims to promote a critical and analytical dialogue among the public by providing scholarly analysis of the digital technological impacts on the society.
