Prof. Vinay Lal is cultural critic, writer, blogger, and Professor of History at UCLA. Author of over 22 books, Prof. Lal will reflect on how far India remains from the ideals of social democracy and why insights from Indian traditions remain vital for reviving democratic outcomes.

The session will conclude with lunch and informal discussions.
